Hi there, I'm Celeste!
I help people learn and grow through making things.
I design experiences, materials, projects, content, and kits that foster lifelong learning, creative confidence, and curiosity about the world.
My 10+ years of experience weave together expertise in facilitating learning in out-of-school learning environments like science centers and makerspaces, graduate degrees (M.S., Ph.D.) and research experience focused on the intersection of technology, design, and learning, and a personal practice as a maker and DIYer.
Who are my people? Here are some professional highlights to give you a sense of where I hang out, professionally speaking:
Maker-in-Residence at the Tinkering Studio
Design and Research Fellow at AIMS Center for Math and Science Education
DaVinci Fellow at Atlanta International School
Education R&D and consultant at Apple
Design team member ('23,'24) at Chibitronics
Contributor (writer) for Open Sci Ed "Ecosystem Interactions & Dynamics" unit
Research Assistant in the Creative Communities Group and Laboratory for Playful Computation
Creative Technologist in the Boulder Public Library District Makerspaces
Makerspace coordinator and Design Thinking Undergraduate Instructor at CSU Spur (current role)
Conference presenter at Play Make Learn, ISTE, ASTC, ALA, Construct 3D, ECSITE, Connected Learning Summit, and more!
In a nutshell – I like to collaborate and work with and for organizations who value innovative, creative, and material-rich learning experiences for learners of all ages, in all spaces.
