Hi there, I'm Celeste!

I help people learn and grow through making things.

I design experiences, materials, projects, content, and kits that foster lifelong learning, creative confidence, and curiosity about the world.

My 10+ years of experience weave together expertise in facilitating learning in out-of-school learning environments like science centers and makerspaces, graduate degrees (M.S., Ph.D.) and research experience focused on the intersection of technology, design, and learning, and a personal practice as a maker and DIYer.

Who are my people? Here are some professional highlights to give you a sense of where I hang out, professionally speaking:

  • Maker-in-Residence at the Tinkering Studio

  • Design and Research Fellow at AIMS Center for Math and Science Education

  • DaVinci Fellow at Atlanta International School

  • Education R&D and consultant at Apple

  • Design team member ('23,'24) at Chibitronics

  • Contributor (writer) for Open Sci Ed "Ecosystem Interactions & Dynamics" unit

  • Research Assistant in the Creative Communities Group and Laboratory for Playful Computation

  • Creative Technologist in the Boulder Public Library District Makerspaces

  • Makerspace coordinator and Design Thinking Undergraduate Instructor at CSU Spur (current role)

  • Conference presenter at Play Make Learn, ISTE, ASTC, ALA, Construct 3D, ECSITE, Connected Learning Summit, and more!

In a nutshell – I like to collaborate and work with and for organizations who value innovative, creative, and material-rich learning experiences for learners of all ages, in all spaces.
